What to expect when we’re forest bathing?

Our Forest Bathing session will consist of a gentle walk, with regular stops, to take in the beauty of nature and the picturesque woods of our location.

You will be guided through a series of sensory exercises designed to help you develop a deeper connection with nature, calming body and mind, before we conclude with a guided relaxation. During the session, you will learn some of the science that shows why trees and green spaces are good for us, including research into the surprising benefits of breathing woodland air. The main aim, though, is to help you leave your worries behind and to relax into nature. Slowing down and focusing on nature allows us to step away from our busy minds. We experience the natural world in a different way, perhaps like a child would, seeing things in more detail, with clarity and awe.

The session will be led by Dr Eve Hepburn, who is trained as a forest bathing guide and is passionate about sharing the restorative power of nature after experiencing first-hand the benefits of nature for mental health and chronic illness.

To make yourself as comfortable as possible, wear sturdy shoes and long-sleeved, breathable clothing, in addition to a mat to sit on. In the summer months, you may wish to bring some water to stay hydrated, and when it’s cold/wet, please wear layers and waterproofs.

“Loved this experience! This session allowed me to experience nature in new ways. Really enjoyed the immersion and the chance to slow down and pay attention in a different way.”
