What is forest bathing?
Forest Bathing is the deeply relaxing experience of immersing yourself in nature under a canopy of trees. It involves a slow, mindful walk in woodlands, taking in nature through your senses.
Forest Bathing, which is also known as ‘shinrin yoku’ in Japan, can be done in a variety of settings – from ancient forests to city parks and other green spaces. It is a simple, effective and enjoyable way to support your mental and physical wellbeing, by slowing down, being present and connecting with nature.

Benefits for your health

What to expect
Our session or retreat activities will be outdoors, so be prepared for whatever the elements have in store for us that day! This may include sunscreen and a bottle of water if it’s warm and sunny, or waterproofs and a woolly hat if it’s wet or chilly.
Our Forest Bathing session will involve a gentle walk in nature, involving a sequence of mindful and carefully curated sensory activities that are designed to calm the body and mind.
The session will be led by Dr Eve Hepburn, a certified Forest Bathing Guide and academic researcher, who is passionate about sharing the restorative power of nature with others.
What our participants are saying
Calming and immersive
In everyday life we don’t stop much to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature. Eve did an incredible job of creating a calming and immersive experience, which helped me connect with the forest and plants around me. I’d highly recommend signing up to one of Eve’s forest bathing sessions.
Malcolm
Wonderfully connective
Dr Hepburn’s approach to forest bathing is a deep dive into genuinely connecting with nature at a level I’ve never experienced before. Using all of my senses made me appreciate the experience more fully than just relaxing in nature. It’s immersive and connective to the earth and myself.
Tami
A powerful tool
I loved forest bathing, I thought it was eye opening and full of good facts. Eve was supportive and had great energy. It was fascinating to realise how often one is in nature without being aware of it. To focus on the senses and feel nature around me was a very powerful tool I’ve taken away with me.
