GROUNDED LEADERSHIP

Nature-Informed Leadership and Staff Wellbeing

Nature-based experiences for resilient teams, compassionate leaders, and thriving workplaces.

Reconnecting Leadership, Teams, and Purpose
Modern workplaces are under increasing pressure. Burnout, constant change, and digital overload leave many leaders and teams feeling disconnected – from themselves, from one another, and from the deeper purpose of their work.

At LongLeaf, we create spaces for leaders and teams to step out of the noise and reconnect with what matters. Our programmes combine nature-based reflection, grounded leadership practice, and facilitated dialogue to help people slow down, think clearly, and return to their work with renewed perspective.

Nature offers a powerful mirror for leadership. In the forest, we can explore how we lead, how we collaborate, and how we sustain ourselves and our organisations over time. Through carefully designed experiences, participants develop greater presence, clarity, resilience, and trust – qualities that strengthen both individuals and teams long after the day itself.

Whether you’re looking to support your leadership team, deepen team connection, or create space for strategic reflection, LongLeaf offers tailored experiences designed for busy organisations.

Our Programmes

🌲 Team Retreats
Half-day to multi-day immersive experiences designed to help teams step away from daily pressures and reconnect with one another.
Through guided nature-based practices and reflective conversations, teams develop stronger trust, clearer communication, and a renewed sense of shared purpose.
Ideal for:
Team retreats | Strategy offsites | Staff appreciation days

🌿 Grounded Leadership Workshops
Facilitated sessions exploring leadership through the lens of awareness, values, and relational balance.
Drawing on the GROW Grounded Leadership framework, these workshops invite leaders to pause, reflect, and strengthen how they show up for their teams and organisations. Our GROW framework is a simple but powerful model that supports leaders to develop clarity, resilience, and relational awareness. Rather than focusing only on performance outcomes, GROW invites leaders to reconnect with the foundations that sustain effective leadership over time.
Ideal for:
Leadership teams | Executive development | Culture change initiatives

🌼 Nature-Based Wellbeing Experiences
Gentle guided sessions introducing practical tools for stress regulation, attention restoration, and mindful awareness in nature.
Participants leave with simple practices they can carry back into their working lives.
Ideal for:
Employee wellbeing programmes | Mental Health Week | Organisational reset days

🛠 Bespoke Organisational Programmes
For organisations seeking deeper integration, we design customised programmes that weave together leadership development, team reflection, and nature-based practice.
These can support areas such as leadership journeys, organisational transitions, or culture development.
All programmes are trauma-aware, inclusive, and accessible, and can be adapted for a range of abilities and environments.

Create Space for What Matters
Sometimes the most valuable thing an organisation can offer its people is time to pause, reflect, and reconnect.
If you’re interested in bringing a LongLeaf experience to your organisation, we’d be delighted to explore what might be possible together.

With not a swimsuit in sight, the Horizons Research team took an afternoon out in Edinburgh for an afternoon of forest bathing with Dr Eve Hepburn of LongLeaf at Lauriston Castle Gardens. We walked slowly and in silence across the castle grounds, breathing, listening, feeling the air rush against our skin, and seeing things so closely – from leaves to flowers to how dainty a strand of grass is. We breathed in the scent of the forest, and it was so peaceful hearing the wind rustling and hearing the birds in the background. We pressed pause from our work and home lives for an afternoon. What an experience. It was pure bliss!
